Logoflare Introduces Guest Posting

Photobucket
If you've ever read a blog post to the bottom, you'll see that there are usually many posts on one blog that are done by several different authors. This is called guest posting and has just been added to this blog today. This will give users a great experience to share their writing and gain exposure in the design community.

Morning Media #1

Photobucket
Since I decided to start my days off a lot earlier now so that I can have more time for productivity, I thought I would also do a blog post as soon as I woke up as well. I plan on calling them the Morning Media posts because they will be short posts of cool videos so that I can write my longer posts later in the day when I'm actually all awake. This is the first of it's series and I hope you enjoy.

This is a short video that was created by Vancouver Film School students Boca (aka Marcos Ceravolo) and Ryan Uhrich through the VFS Digital Design Program. The work that comes out of the Vancouver Film School is truly remarkable and you can expect to see a lot of it on this blog from now on, mainly in the Morning Media posts. This video contains a very artistic view on typography, a subject that is important for designers to understand and explore.

So what does everyone think of the video and more importantly, what is everyones view on the Morning Media posts? Let me know in the comments below.

Poem: The Thief

Photobucket
After waking up early this morning, I sat behind my dorm on a bridge that ran over a busy street and watched the traffic below. It was rather relaxing to have woken up so early (6 am) and having a full day infront of me. I find that I am more energized and productive when I wake up early and I'm going to be writing a post later about the benefits of an early rise...
Anyway, while I was watching the busy stream of traffic shoot by below and enjoying my cool green tea, I decided to write a short poem on my iPhone. Hope you like it.

He crept through the bazaar, quite slowly with stealth
His eyes opened wide with the view of the wealth
Beautiful possessions on cloth, not guarded by bars
Spices and fruits lined up in clay jars
Exotic herbs, jewelry and spices
Quill pens and wheat next to ginger and rices
A vast wind rose up and the boy disappeared
This thief was the one that the shop owners feared

Leave me a comment letting me know what you think or even leave your own poem as a comment.

A New Day Has Dawned For Logoflare

Photobucket
If you have seen my blog at any point in time, you'll realize that there have been times where I had gone for weeks, even months at a time without posting anything or updating the blog. This is due to the large amount of work I've had in the classes I've been taking at SCAD including Composition, Color Theory, Drawing 1 & 2, Public Speaking, and 3D Design. I've been focusing all my time on my schoolwork and because of it I've lost touch with blogging and have posted less and less.

I've been trying to think of a way to balance my schoolwork and a regular blogging schedule and I believe I've finally figured it out. I'm going to start blogging about the actual work that I'm doing in school along with my articles and just ideas I have about life in general. I realize that I only publish helpful articles about design on my blog and I could be posting so much more. Throughout the day I am constantly working on projects for my classes along with constantly drawing in my sketchbook, writing stories and poetry, and constantly finding new ways to appreciate life. Why shouldn't I be sharing all of these things with you on my blog?

It's no longer going to be a blog with just helpful articles anymore. Sure, I'll try to keep the articles coming out on a consistent basis, but I'm going to start showing you the work I'm doing in real time. Every time I sketch something you'll see it and every time I have an idea about life I'll show you. You'll be able to see the projects I'm working on and get a first hand experience on what life in art school is actually like.

Get ready for a lot more blog posts, and new sections of posts just as The Thought Box, The Sketchbook, Project Updates, and a few off-topic posts on things I believe will benefit you if you read them. I think these changes will be for the best and they'll definitely bring a lot of variety to the blog. Cheers!

Here are a few ways that you can keep up with my new posting regularly.
